Design Brief
Design a set of nesting tables that can be used in the living room environment. These tables should supplement any existing table space, be lightweight, include some form of storage and be flatpack if possible.
Key Research Findings
Misconceptions:
Many individuals perceive nesting tables as antiquated objects and only view them as tables that sit under each other in graduating sizes.
Portability:
70% of users want nesting tables to be easy to move around, however many current products don’t meet this expectation.
Flat-Pack Design:
Many current flat-pack products are difficult to construct due to them possessing several similar looking parts and misleading instructions.

Outcome
A flat pack table, made from Baltic Birch Plywood, coated in a layer of Danish Oil. An anodized aluminium leg slots through the centre and affords the user both storage space and a carry handle. The slatted curve looks connected at first glance, giving the table the visual effect of being bent into shape. This design takes nesting tables from antiquated units that fit beneath each other, into a contempory table set with improved functionality that nest next to each other, allowing for an array of different table arrangements.
The bisecting leg provides a unique focal point for the design
